to promote the accomplishments, accountability and value of Pennsylvania's public schools.
First Day of School

The year is in full swing at McAnnulty.  We enjoyed having Dora greet us on the first day of school.  Our "No Bullying" week was enjoyed by all, and we kicked off our first PTA fundraiser of the year.  This is only the beginning of a year full of excitement.

Starfish

Denny Barger, former educator and founder of the Starfish Programs, visited the students of McAnnulty Elementary on September 26, 2007.  The Starfish Program aims to stop the chain of events that can lead to violence or self-destruction at its starting point, before it results in huge problems.  We all enjoyed listening to stories and promising to perform at least one "Act Of Kindness" every day.  McAnnulty is an "AOK" School!

Johnny Appleseed

Kindergarteners celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day by participating in a variety of apple activities.  We had lots of fun making apple headbands, applesauce, and apple prints.  We also read Apples written by Cathy Torrisi and made a book about apples to share with our family.   We even participated in a taste test before creating a picture graph of our favorite kind of apple.  Finally, we worked with our partner to play the counting game Rotten Apple.  It was an exciting and delicious day at McAnnulty!
