Earth Day
You may have noticed that the flower beds in front of McAnnulty look a little different these days! That's because students at McAnnulty celebrated Earth Day in a big way! Students demonstrated their school pride by cleaning out the flower beds and then filling them with beautiful new flowers for everyone to enjoy! Over 200 purple and white pansies were planted by the students and teachers.

Young Musician
Students in Mrs. Bruder’s second grade class as well as Mrs. May’s second grade class were treated to a visit by Mr. Lombardi, a local musician and percussion instructor. Mr. Lombardi’s son, Jacob, is a student in Mrs. Bruder’s class. Throughout the demonstration, the students had the opportunity to play several different types of instruments including egg shakers, boomwhackers and even the drum set and xylophone! A big thanks to Mr. Lombardi for sharing his expertise with our young students!

Creepy Crawly Caterpillar Math
Recently learners in Mrs. Bruder’s Brainstormer Buddy Bees classroom used their measurement and telling time math skills in Science class with their pet caterpillars! Learners used rulers to measure growth in inches of their Painted Lady caterpillars after a week went by in their pet caterpillar’s life cycle, and they also explored time past to see how long it took their caterpillars to race across a finish line!

Family Bingo
The McAnnulty Family Bingo was another huge success. We had over 400 tickets sold to the the children and their families. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to the Bingo Committee members for all their hard work.
We would also like to thank the administrators and teachers for pitching in and helping during this event. We all have one motivator, and that is the KIDS!

Think Spring
The children in Mrs. Hustava’s first grade class enjoyed the sunny, but slightly chilly day as they planted different seeds. As a part of the ASSET science program, the children are learning about different organisms. First, the children observed the different seeds by using their senses. They then chose which seeds they wanted to plant. Their choices included kidney beans, peas, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. The children will take care of their plants and record several observations before they take them home.
